About Neurofeedback Training

How It Works

Sensors that are designed to read the activity of the brain are attached to the scalp and ears using a conductive paste. You relax and listen to music while watching images on a monitor. (Children can watch a movie or cartoon.) The sensors read the electrical activity of the brain, detect moment-to-moment changes and this information is relayed to the computer. When the system senses that the brain waves are outside of the optimal range, it signals the brain to return to the present moment. This signal, a brief interruption in the music and video, may or may not be noticed by you. No electrical impulse is used in this training.

After a few NeurOptimal Neurofeedback sessions, individuals report feeling more focused, calm and centered. They work faster, more efficiently and experience a significant reduction in physical complaints. They are less bothered by doubts and insecurities and are more apt to experience confidence and satisfaction. Nagging, upsetting thoughts simply drop away with no effort on the user’s part. Free from distraction, the brain can focus on the present and naturally discover the best way to tackle the task at hand.

Number of Sessions

The number of sessions needed varies from one individual to the next but usually range between 20 and 36 sessions. Some people reach their outcome in 5 to 10 sessions. Two sessions per week is ideal but one session per week is effective as well. With children, the number of sessions required is less as their brain patterns are not as ingrained as those of adults.
